Author of Amish and Christian Fiction
Hi! My name is June Belfie and I'm of retirement age, but my husband, Jim, and I are not really retired - and hope never to be. We own an antique shop and rental properties.I write novels (eight published) and have oodles of ideas for new books, which sometimes prevent me from sleeping. Jim handles the rentals, creates flower gardens, and is an avid reader - being my best critic and content editor. Together we take walks around our small Pennsylvania town, travel to exotic locations, and enjoy our five adult children, their mates, and our eight exceedingly brilliant grand-children. Hopefully, we will spend many more years on this planet before going to a better place.
God has been my fortress through many difficult times. He's also been my joy during the highs. I know His love for me - and for each of you - surpasses all. My books all reflect my strong belief in my Savior, Jesus Christ, but I try to show through my characters His love and His saving grace rather than "preach." My books are safe enough for your children or grandchildren to read. They are clean and even my romance books are never graphic or offensive. I'm saddened by the downward spiraling of our society and the detrimental influences placed over our children. I hope my books give my readers a refreshing break from the bombardment they receive on television and mainstream media of sex and violence. Though fiction, they are based on truth. May God bless each of you.
When I was a child I enjoyed picture books. My father often read to me while I prepared for bed. He read "Treasure Island" and "The Wind in the Willows." I remember "Mary Poppins" and "Raggedy Anne and Andy," too. Sometimes I found myself distracted into my own world, but he enjoyed reading to me so much, I never let on that I wasn't listening to every word.
When I was in grammar school I wrote plays and my friends and I put on productions in the neighborhood, charging five cents to attend. I don't think we ever made more than fifty cents, but it was a blast.
After trying my hand at art and selling for a while in the country inn I owned with my husband, I switched over to writing and it became a wonderful past time. Now I write full time and it's my career. It's fun to 'create' characters and then let them do their own thing.
I truly hope my readers enjoy the books as much as I enjoy writing them. I'd love to hear from you if you have any comments. (Hopefully, you won't crush my tender feelings too often.)
